Here I am, in uncharted territory, starting this brand new project! Starting something from the beginning can be a stressful challenge for anyone. For instance, the beginning of a friendship, a new house project, or even something as simple as wearing a different color other than black to freshen up your wardrobe. (me!)

The beginning, on another spectrum, can mean a fresh start and the satisfaction of being challenged. It’s like starting anew on a Monday or the first day of school with sharpened pencils in hand. So, this is me. The step I always thought about taking since I was a little girl…to write.

The Why

My professional background has been in public relations, marketing, and sales, specifically working with companies that focus on literacy. Perfect for a bookworm like me. Because of reasons out of my control, I found myself waking up without a purpose. I needed a reason to start my day and feel productive instead of watching morning TV and figuring out what to cook for dinner. Then, “poof”, the light bulb went on!

Books, writing, and literacy have been my passion and I always trusted that things happen for a reason, including this new endeavor. As the phrases go, “there is no time like the present” and “you’re not getting any younger.”

The Hope

My personal goal is for this blog to be my creative outlet. For my readers, I hope to bring you a little joy through my writing every Thursday. I want to invite you into my world through my short stories, some about growing up in my hometown in the 1970s. I’ll also be sharing recipes, decor ideas, books, organizational tips, and introducing my family and life with you. So here it comes, chapter 1,…welcome to my heart….in pen!
