Is anyone else obsessed with the fall season? I can’t get enough of the days when the sky is painted bright blue and the crisp night air means wearing a cozy sweatshirt. Each turn of the calendar brings its own sense of wonder, excitement, and purpose. Like most lovers of fall, crunching apples and having a bonfire are must-do’s. However, I also look forward to all the unconventional fall treats. Here are some of my favorites…
- I love making a Target run at the beginning of fall. Fun chachkies start showing up in Bullseye’s Playground, aka The Dollar Spot. I try to resist buying anything because I already have lots of fall decor but it’s fun to browse!
- When Halloween candy starts popping up on grocery, drug store, and Target shelves, it brings me joy! Seasonal candy is the best! Especially when it involves candy corn.
- The first hot beverage of the fall season always tastes excellent! I gravitate more towards iced coffee and tea so when the nights turn chilly, I want to wrap my hands around my favorite fall mug. Feeling the warmth and watching the swirling steam is a simple gesture I look forward to.
- I burn candles regularly but there’s nothing like lighting the first fall scented candle for the season. I find it oddly satisfying to trim the new wick and catch that first sniff. Pumpkin, apples, leaves… I can never pick just one.
- Pumpkin and cinnamon. Two of my preferred fall flavors. For the next 2 months, I’ll treat myself to pumpkin pie, pumpkin bread, and cinnamon sugar donuts! For my taste buds, these flavors encompass the season.
- Football isn’t my forte but having a game on TV as background noise, if you will, definitely puts me in the fall mindset. The commentators’ voices and cheering fans are a big part of appreciating this time of year.
- I always look forward to trading in my shorts and T-shirts for a jean jacket, a cozy sweater, and fuzzy socks! Enough said.
Enjoy the beautiful fall season! The weather in Ohio is beautiful along with all its simple pleasures. It makes my heart happy!

I’ll take the fall season 365 days a year! Thank you for your sweet comments. I so appreciate it. Hopefully I’ll see you this fall and we can celebrate the season together!
