Thanksgiving Day is one week away! I’m a fan of this holiday and Disney. For some lightheartedness and goofy fun (no pun intended) let’s mash the two together. If I had the chance to invite a Disney character to dinner, are you wondering who I would choose? Why, Mary Poppins, of course!
I’m a huge fan of Mary, and for me, she would be the perfect dinner guest. She would arrive promptly and most likely bring me a lovely hostess gift which she would take out of her mysterious carpet bag. Because Mary has such gracious manners, if I asked her to please remove her shoes, she most definitely would. She knows how important cleanliness is. After all, she takes good care of Jane and Michael.
She would contribute interesting and exciting conversations at the dinner table. She always has a fascinating story to tell, and her English accent puts the icing on the cake. I certainly can’t forget about her magical disposition. She can speak to animals so I would request that she ask my cat, Theo, why he doesn’t like to sit next to me while I read and why he’s obsessed with food.
I’m sure Mary would bring her plate to the kitchen sink after her meal. She’s elegant and tidy, you know. She’s also got a beautiful voice so perhaps she would sing a song or two for us after dessert and coffee. She would never overstay her welcome because “she’ll only stay until the wind changes”.
Mary Poppins is my favorite Disney character and movie. She would be a delightful Thanksgiving dinner guest. After all, she’s “practically perfect in every way”….
If you had the chance to invite a Disney character to Thanksgiving dinner, who would you choose and why? Let’s have some fun! Take a quick second and leave a comment below this post!
It was a little over a year ago when I got to check off something on my Bucket List. We saw the stage musical of Mary Poppins in London! The picture above is the outside of the Prince Edwards Theatre.
