-1 can of Rotel (tomatoes and green chilies)
-1- 14 oz can whole tomatoes plus juice
-1 can jalapenos, diced. Use as much as you would like.
-small to medium onion
-Garlic salt, cumin, a dash of sugar. I don’t measure. I sprinkle to taste.
-In a food processor, I literally process the onion and jalapenos for 1-2 seconds. I do the same with both cans of tomatoes. You don’t want to puree it. It tastes best after it’s been chilled in a container for a couple of hours.
I learned that salsa translates directly to the word “sauce” in Spanish. That makes sense. Just like Italian tomato sauce, everyone has their special recipe and style.
This salsa recipe is my favorite and go-to! It’s a copycat of Chili’s. We often ate their salsa and thin, crispy, salty chips at their restaurant. So good!
I suggest having the ingredients for this salsa on hand so when you need a quick app, you can make it and be out the door in 10 minutes. It’s so fast to make, and the taste and texture are similar to Chili’s restaurant. It’s not even a “recipe”, per se. It’s more like a “dump, chop, and go.”
Try it for your next get-together and enjoy!

I love homemade salsa, and this looks amazing! You had me at the Chili’s salsa comparison—I’m a huge fan of theirs.

I’ve tried many recipes. This is the best! Nothing like a salty chip and salsa in the summer!
