My family and most of our friends are foodies. Our get-togethers revolve around where we are eating and what we are eating. When we share food, that often means sharing recipes too!

My good friend, Traci, is a phenomenal cook.  As a matter of fact, she makes a really delicious lasagna that my husband loves! This week, however, since we’re close to ringing in the New Year, I’m sharing an appetizer recipe of hers that’s perfect for December 31. Traci’s Swiss Cheese Dip has become a favorite of mine and I make it fairly often. It’s warm, cheesy, and gooey which makes it the perfect accompaniment to a cold, frosty night at home along with some movie watching and a couple of board games. The ingredients aren’t complicated and it’s a simple, one-bowl recipe. If you’re a lover of cheese, try it! I’m sure you will gobble it up before midnight so you can start your “healthy eating” at 12:01 on January 1! Enjoy!

Thank you, Traci, for sharing this recipe many years ago! Cheers, my friend!

Traci’s Swiss Cheese Dip

  • 8 oz shredded swiss cheese
  • 8 oz softened cream cheese
  • ⅓ c Miracle Whip
  • 2T chopped green onion
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ⅛ teaspoon pepper
  • Pinch of garlic salt
  • Sliced almonds if desired

Set oven temp to 350. Mix all ingredients and put in pie plate. Bake 15-20 minutes until bubbly. Pour yourself a glass of spirits. Grab some crackers for dipping and enjoy!

Readers, please forgive me for not having a photo of the finished swiss cheese dip! Here’s the honest truth, I’ve been busy baking for Christmas AND my husband and I are really trying to eat healthy the last couple of months in anticipation of the holidays. Eating a whole plate of cheese dip after taking a picture just wasn’t in the cards for us this week! Thanks for understanding!
