Once in a while, I enjoy an audiobook. I listened to Liz Cheney’s, “Oath and Honor” and finished it right before the election. Cheney is the former congresswoman of the US House of Representatives from Wyoming and was Vice Chair of the House Select Committee on the January 6th attack on the US Capitol. She was ousted from the Republican primary in 2022.
Whatever your party affiliation, it’s an important and interesting memoir to read or listen to. It’s the story leading up to the January 6 insurrection and the aftermath.
She is the narrator of her audiobook, which makes it more compelling. What you heard on the news about January 6 does not compare to the detail Cheney accounted for in her book. She was in the Capital as events unfolded, hour by hour, minute by minute.
Cheney backed Trump’s agenda 93% of the time during her congressional career, but after January 6th, it was very clear to her what was right and wrong. What matters to her is defending the Constitution. She shows her patriotism passionately and backs her convictions with facts, and for that, I admire her.
As a woman, I am proud of Lynn Cheney’s bold convictions. She’s a badass and doesn’t hold back. It takes a lot of guts to fight against the majority even if it means losing friends, relatives, and your job.
It was an engrossing book containing behind-the-scenes, first-hand information. I listened while driving and found myself sitting inside my garage not wanting to turn off the car. It has been a while since I listened to an audiobook but when I do, I forget just how enjoyable it is to sit back and take in the information.
Please be open-minded and pick up this book. It’s eye-opening. Enjoy!

Thanks for the recommendation. I’m always looking for a good audio book. I give her and Adam Kinzinger so much credit for sticking up for what’s right and for our constitution even though they knew the severe consequences of their actions. I can’t wait to listen to the book.

The fact that she narrated it makes it even better. I have so much respect for her and the whole committee. I hope you enjoy it! It’s so good!
