Those who know me know Theo. He’s my 6-year-old, chubby, chill, sleepy brown tabby cat. He is my something special. Those of you who own cats understand how hilarious they are. They have no idea the joy they bring to those who consider themselves “cat people.”
Theo lives an amazing cushy life. He’s spoiled. I want to learn to embrace Theo’s attitude. If he could share it with others, his philosophy of life would go something like this:
Being anti-social is perfectly acceptable. If you don’t feel like being near humans, just turn your head, ignore them, and walk away. Even when you snub them, your human will still come crawling back because you know how handsome and cuddly you are. Your time and mood are the most important parts of this equation.
Do what you want to do all day, every day. Wake up, then take a nap an hour later. Eat. Sleep again in a cardboard box. Walk around. Roll over. Eat. Nap on some brown packing paper from Chewy and Amazon boxes. (That’s Theo’s preferred place to sleep.) Take a grooming bath. Repeat 24/7.
Be yourself with no regrets. It doesn’t matter what others think of you. Accept being overweight even though everyone tells you it’s unhealthy. Accept your laziness. Who cares if you get fired from your job because you sleep all day? You’re not trying to impress anyone. If you want to lick your paws or back in the middle of an important conversation, just do it. You gotta do what you gotta do. Be independent. You don’t need anyone else to have a good time.
Even if you’re not a cat person, we can all learn something from them. They are strange and comical beings. I’m biased, but Theo is the best sidekick. When I look into his eyes, I swear there’s a person in there somewhere. We’re both so lucky we found each other.

Aww, Theo…he’s so handsome! And I love his philosophy on life. You probably know I’m a huge cat lover. I grew up with them (dogs, too) and then we’ve had a cat (or cats) our entire married life (almost 40 years!). We’re down to our last one – Clementine. She’s 15 and in stage 4 kidney disease. I would love to adopt another one (or two) when Clementine passes, but we’re finally going to take a break. We really want to travel and we haven’t been able to do so with Clementine being sick. We also need a break from the responsibility, constant care and expense. We’re not saying “never again” though. <3

Oh, thank you! Theo is a trip, like most cats are. I love when you post pics of Clementine. She’s a sweet girl! I hope she stays as status quo. She looks like she’s holding her own and content. Theo is my first pet ever! I get it about being a continuous pet owner. No matter what, pets need our attention and are constant work. ..but right now I just love that he’s all ours!

Aww, Theo sounds like the perfect companion!
I wasn’t a cat person until my oldest daughter moved in with her boyfriend, who has a cat named Luigi. My daughter has since fallen in love with Luigi, and I have, as well. (I’ve since nicknamed him grandkittyy) And now I love all the cats!
Thank you for sharing Theo with us! I’m looking forward to more Theo content. ❤️
