-2 bottles Pinot Grigio (or you can use a Chardonnay)

-¾ c sparkling apple cider

-¼ c sugar

-¼ c or so of fresh cranberries, halved

-¾ c fresh cranberries, whole

-fresh orange slices and/or a Granny Smith apple cut into chunks (unpeeled)

-3 rosemary sprigs and a couple extra to garnish to make it fancy!

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours and serve with some fruit in each glass. Now you have yourself a party! How easy is that? (I’m channeling Ina Garten with that statement!)

This winter sangria recipe is delicious! My husband has been making it for the last couple of years for my father-in-law’s family when we celebrate The Feast Of The Seven Fishes near Christmas.

Many holiday recipes are worth making any time during the winter. Why not spread the joy when it’s an overcast and cold weekend? You certainly don’t have to wait for a special occasion. The first 3 months of the year in Ohio are pretty bleak. This drink will be at least something to look forward to on a snowy weekend, hanging out with friends, and having a game night.

It’s light but flavorful. The more the fruit macerates, the tastier the drink. It looks so fancy when served in a clear pitcher! No one has to know that it’s so simple to make. Cheers to a cozy weekend!
